independent research firms, to conduct research on important issues in the District.
Respondents may be contacted by email, text or telephone.

Individual responses are entirely confidential and anonymous, and will be used for research
purposes only. Individual data will not be sold or provided to anyone. Respondents will not be
approached for any other reason - we are only interested in residents opinions.

Dear NUSD Community,

Heading into my second year as Superintendent of the Novato Unified School District, the feeling of excitement is in the air. The dedication, commitment and care that Novato carries for its students, their education and their development is phenomenally strong. This year, as we embark on the first year of our new three year Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), we have newly established goals and action plans to carry out our district mission. The three main areas of focus are:

  • High Quality Instruction/Improved Academic Outcomes
  • Positive School Culture and Climate
  • Student and Family Engagement

In addition and in response to current student needs, we will be focusing on enhancing school safety and climate, mental health services, fostering relationships with our students and educational equity. NUSD is excited to continue to take full advantage of the additional programming offered by the state to provide services and programs to our students:

  • Universal Meals
  • Universal Transitional Kindergarten
  • Expanded Learning Opportunities in the form of afterschool programming for TK-6th grade students

The community will continue to hear from us at the district level, at least twice a month, on the exciting and essential happenings in our district.
